Room

The Room is the core element of the Guest House App — it represents the service (accommodation) that the property offers.
Each room belongs to a Property and is linked with multiple supporting documents such as Room Type, Bed Type, Floor, and Housekeeping Status.

Overview

Before creating a Room, make sure that: - The Property is already created.
- Supporting lists like Room Type, Bed Type, and Floor are defined.

You can find these under their respective lists in the Guest House App.

Details Required While Creating a Room

1. Property

Select the Property under which this room belongs.
Rooms cannot exist without a property — this determines where the room operates and how it connects with billing and reservations.

2. Room Type

The Room Type defines the category or class of the room — such as Deluxe 1, Deluxe 2, Suite, etc.

To create a new Room Type: 1. Visit Room Type List.
2. Click Add Room Type.
3. Enter: - Property under which it belongs.
- Room Type Name.
4. Mark it as Active.

3. Bed Type

The Bed Type specifies the type of bedding available — e.g., 2 Single Beds, 1 Double Bed, King Size Bed, etc.

To create a Bed Type: 1. Visit Bed Type List.
2. Click Add Bed Type.
3. Enter: - Bed Type Name.
- Property under which it belongs.

4. Floor

2. Click Add Floor.
3. Enter: - Floor Name.
- Property under which the floor exists.

5. Status

The Room Status indicates the current booking or maintenance state of the room.

Status Description
Available Default status — room is open for booking.
Reserved Room is booked under a reservation or stay.
Out of Service Room is unavailable due to maintenance or other issues.

Room status automatically changes to Reserved when a Stay is created and linked to it.

6. Housekeeping (HK) Status

The Housekeeping Status tracks the cleanliness and readiness of the room.

HK Status Meaning
Clean Default — room is ready for the next guest.
Dirty Room becomes dirty after checkout; a housekeeping task is automatically generated.
OOO (Out of Order) Room is temporarily unavailable due to maintenance.
Inspected Room has been checked and verified after cleaning.

You can also record the Reason for status changes in the provided field to track maintenance or special conditions.
