Property

The Property is the foundational setup in the Guest House App.
Without defining a property, no further actions can be performed within the app.


Purpose

A Property represents an individual guest house, hotel, or accommodation unit that operates under the organization.
Multiple properties can be created and managed independently.


How to Add a New Property

  1. Go to Property List → New Property.
  2. Fill in the required details as listed below.

Details to Be Filled

  • Property Name
    The full name of the property or guest house.

  • Abbr (Abbreviation)
    “Abbr.” stands for abbreviation — a short code for the property (e.g., MK for Madhav Kutir).

  • Company
    The ERPNext Company under which this property operates.
    Used while creating Sales Invoices to identify the legal entity.

  • Cost Center
    Comes from ERPNext and is used in the Sales Invoice to record income and expenses correctly.

  • Warehouse
    Selected from ERPNext and used for tracking stock items (if any) linked with the property.
    It is also referenced while creating Sales Invoices.

  • Room Revenue Account
    An ERPNext account used in Sales Invoices to record income from room bookings.
    This defines the ledger where room revenue is posted.

  • Location
    The geographical location where the property is situated.
    Examples: VRN, NOI, JLN, etc. (locations are maintained in ERPNext).

  • Contact Number
    The contact number for the property (front desk or manager).

  • Address
    The full address or detailed location of the property.


Notes

  • A property must be created before setting up rooms, reservations, or stays.
  • All financial and accounting entries related to reservations, stays, and billing depend on the property’s linked company, cost center, and accounts.
